Before sharing a birthday wishlist, open every product link manually and compare the model, variant and current availability with your description. Use a browser where you are not signed into the shop. Guests need a public product page, not your basket or order.
This is a check at a particular moment, not a guarantee of future stock or price.
What counts as a working link
A page loading is not enough: it must be the intended item. If the shop resets colour or size, state the required variant in the description.
| Check | Ready when |
|---|---|
| Destination | A public product page opens |
| Model | Name and version match |
| Variant | Size, colour and contents are explicit |
| Availability | The current status has been checked manually |
| Change | The saved link has been reopened |
Work through the list
- Start at the top and check every entry.
- Open the shop link without signing in; do not order or enter contact details.
- Compare the model, variant and contents. Use the item description guide if details are missing.
- Check availability and the current price. Update or remove an outdated price estimate.
- Replace a wrong destination with a public product link, never a checkout, account or order link.
- Save the entry and reopen the saved link.
- Share only after finishing all entries.
Do not strip URL parameters blindly: some identify the product or variant. If a link contains a personal token, find the public item again through the shop and test that link.
Example
Your entry says “blue travel mug, 450 ml”, but the link opens a red 300 ml version. The page works, yet the check fails. Find the correct version, state colour and capacity in text, save and reopen it. If unavailable, decide whether another colour is acceptable or remove the entry temporarily. For a single discontinued item, see how to replace a sold-out gift.
Checklist and Osanta
Keep a temporary note for each item: opened while signed out, model matched, variant matched, price and stock checked today, saved link retested. The date is for your review, not a promise to guests.
The Osanta birthday wishlist keeps descriptions and links in one list. A new owner starts with email and account access, then adds a title and gifts. It is useful for sharing one list of links you have already checked. Shop checks remain manual; do not rely on automatic price or stock monitoring. The create button starts a list rather than checking products for you.
Preparing a birthday?
Collect wishes in one link so guests can see available gifts and avoid duplicates.
Questions on this topic
Is a page opening enough?
No. Check that the exact model and variant match the description.
What if the colour selection resets?
Write the required colour and size in the entry as well as linking to the product.
May I use a link from an order email?
Use a public product page instead, without order details or personal tokens.
Does this guarantee availability?
No. It records only what you saw; buyers must check again before purchase.
