Move bookmarks and screenshots to a wish board manually: choose a small batch, check each public source and write why the idea matters, what would make an option suitable and what you will do next. A screenshot does not confirm a current price, model or stock level.
This is for an ongoing personal board assembled from browser and phone saves, rather than a birthday list or an automatic import. The aim is usable entries, not a copy of the entire archive.
Decide what deserves an entry
Ask: “What did I mean to save?”, “Why do I want it?” and “What is the next step?” If you cannot answer yet, leave the item in the source collection for later review.
A lamp photograph might mean an exact model, a similar shape or a wish for better light in one corner. Those are different ideas. An unexplained image preserves the uncertainty.
Try a batch of five saves. This is a manageable example, not a board capacity limit.
Check the source
| Source | Manual check | What to transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Bookmark | Public page opens and the variant matches | Verified link and your own description |
| Product screenshot | Visible name, model and specifications | Confirmed details only |
| Inspiration image | What you actually like about it | Idea and criterion, not an assumed product |
| Missing page | Can normal site navigation find it? | General idea labelled as unverified |
Do not transfer receipts, account screens, private messages, order numbers or payment pages. If a screenshot contains them, use it only to help write your own description.
Prepare a public link
Find the ordinary public page through the source site's navigation or search. Remove unnecessary advertising tags and check that the intended variant still opens. Do not delete parameters blindly: some select the model or colour.
Do not save personal tokens or basket, order and account links. If unsure whether an address is public, find a fresh public page manually or leave the entry without a link.
A reusable entry template
- Name: a specific idea you will recognise later.
- Purpose: the task or wish behind it.
- Source: a checked public link or “source not yet found”.
- Selection criterion: what makes an option suitable.
- Next action: one check, comparison or clarification.
- Checked: when you opened the source; this is your note, not an automatic status.
Example from a screenshot
> Compact desk lamp. Purpose: light a notebook without taking up the middle of the desk. Source: screenshot; exact model not established. Criterion: the base fits the available area; dimensions must be checked against the manufacturer's description. Next action: find the public product page and record its dimensions.
Do not guess a brand, price or compatibility from a photograph. Add confirmed details later. This demonstrates a note structure, not a purchase recommendation.
Test the process in an ordinary note
Prepare the trial batch in any document. Read it the next day without looking at the original screenshots. If the purpose and next action are clear, the ideas are ready to transfer.
For later upkeep, see how to maintain a board without a date. The task here is narrower: move the meaning of saved sources.
Using Osanta
The Osanta wish board brings prepared ideas into one place. Its current how-it-works guide describes names, descriptions, links, photos and sections. Write the criterion and next action as ordinary description text rather than expecting dedicated fields.
A new owner starts with email; a signed-in user sees creation for the current account. Then add the ideas manually. This workflow does not assume bookmark import, screenshot OCR, synchronisation, price monitoring or recovery of missing pages.
Check the transferred entries
- The title identifies the idea.
- The source is checked or clearly marked unverified.
- A criterion and one next action are present.
- An old screenshot is not treated as current price or stock evidence.
- No private tokens, orders, receipts, accounts or messages remain.
- You can understand the entry on a phone without opening the archive.
- Delete the original only after checking the transfer, if you choose to delete it.
Continue in small batches. A useful entry helps you make the next decision.
Making a wish list?
Create a wishlist and send the link to friends so they can choose a gift without extra questions.
Questions on this topic
Can Osanta automatically import bookmarks?
This workflow is manual. Do not assume bookmark import, screenshot OCR or browser synchronisation.
What if a screenshot has no link?
Record the visible name and useful details, mark the source unverified and look for a public page manually. Otherwise keep a general idea without claiming an exact model.
Should I move every old save?
No. Start with a small batch and keep ideas whose meaning and next action are clear. You need not delete originals immediately.
Which URL should I save?
A checked public page without personal tokens or order details. If unsure, find the page again through normal site navigation.
Does a screenshot verify price or availability?
No. It records what was seen earlier. Check the current page manually and do not promise recovery or accuracy if it has disappeared.
