To combine wedding gifts from different shops, manually place your chosen items in one wish list. Give each wish one entry and a primary product link. Before sharing, reopen the links, check the selected variants and remove duplicates.
A shared wish list combines wishes, not shopping baskets. Prices, stock, payment and delivery remain with each retailer. Finding one gift in three shops usually means three possible sources for one wish, not a request for three copies.
Choose a format you can maintain
A note or spreadsheet is enough for the initial collection. What matters is that the desired item is clear, its source can be checked and there is one current version of the list.
A spreadsheet works for preparing and comparing entries. A dedicated page helps when guests need to see which gifts are available or reserved. Avoid maintaining separate lists for different groups of guests.
Collect the links in five steps
- Open each shop page. Use the actual product page, not search results, a basket or a personal order.
- Copy the name, selected variant and public link into your draft. Leave out correspondence, delivery addresses, order numbers and personal account links.
- Compare entries with similar names. Merge them if you want one item; state the quantity if you want more.
- Choose a primary link for each wish. Another retailer selling the same item is not automatically another gift.
- Add the cleaned entries to the shared list. Open each link from that list and check whether it still shows the intended variant.
Do not remove URL parameters indiscriminately: some may identify a model or colour. Reopen the ordinary public product page and check its link instead. Never transfer private order tokens.
A worksheet for preparing entries
| Draft field | What to note | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Wish | One clear item name | Spot duplicates |
| Variant | Model, colour or size when relevant | Check the linked item |
| Main link | A public product page | Give the guest a starting point |
| Quantity | The number actually wanted | Distinguish alternatives from a set |
| Checked | Date of your manual check | Identify potentially stale details |
This is a template for your notes, not a list of required Osanta fields. For individual item specifications, see how to describe a wedding gift.
Example: one model in two shops
A couple wants one desk lamp. Shop A and shop B list the same model, but shop B’s link opens a different colour. The couple compares the model and colour, then keeps one entry: “White desk lamp, one unit,” with a primary link. If the retailer does not matter, they say so.
Guests can now see the desired outcome rather than the couple’s collection of browser tabs. This is an illustrative example, not a stock claim or retailer recommendation.
Check before sharing
- Links work without access to your retailer account.
- Products and variants match your wishes.
- Alternative sellers have not become separate gift requests.
- Any displayed price is an estimate, not a promise.
- No home addresses, phone numbers, order details or private links appear.
- The old spreadsheet is no longer a competing guest list.
Repeat stock checks manually. Availability today does not guarantee availability when a guest buys. Guests confirm ordering and delivery terms with the shop.
Using Osanta for the shared list
The Osanta wedding page supports gifts linked to a shop, ideas and one page for guests. The how-it-works guide explains the process.
Create a page and add your prepared entries manually. A new owner starts with email access; guests do not need an account to open the page. Reservation markings help coordination when guests use them, but cannot guarantee that nobody buys a duplicate.
The benefit is fewer scattered messages and lists. It does not imply automatic importing, live prices, stock monitoring, payment processing or combined delivery.

Create a wedding wishlist so guests can choose useful gifts and reply about attendance.
Questions on this topic
Can I combine gifts from several shops?
Yes. Collect the wishes manually in one list with a main product link for each entry. The list is combined, not the orders.
Does each retailer need a separate entry?
Usually not. If you want one gift, several retailers offering it should not look like several independent wishes.
Will prices and stock update automatically?
Do not rely on automatic synchronisation. Check product pages manually and confirm current purchase terms with the shop.
Can I use a shopping basket link?
Use a public product page instead. Basket or personal order links may be inaccessible to guests or contain private information.
Do guests need an account to view the list?
No. Guests can open the wedding page without an account. Creating and managing the list is the owner’s role; new owners start with an email address.
