Start a wedding wishlist for a small apartment with available space. For each item, identify a storage spot, check its size in use and decide whether it replaces something you own. Add only wishes that pass these checks. Folding does not automatically mean easy to store.
This is for couples selecting their wedding wishes. Renting has separate considerations in the rental-home wishlist guide; choosing fewer possessions more broadly belongs to the minimalist wedding wishlist guide. Here the question is whether the chosen items fit.
Ask three questions
Where will it stay between uses?
Choose a real shelf, drawer or storage area. Measure the free width, height and depth, allowing for what is already there. Keep measurements in your private notes; guests do not need your floor plan or personal photos.
How much room does it need in use?
An unfolded item can need much more space than its box. Check the working dimensions and whether you can take it out of storage easily. For connections, installation or fixings, consult the specific manufacturer's instructions and an appropriate specialist. Dimensions alone cannot confirm technical compatibility.
What will it replace?
Both partners should agree to the replacement. Decide what happens to the old item, but keep it until the new one arrives and is checked. An intention to clear a cupboard later is not free space yet.
Use a selection table
| Check | Private note | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | Actual spot and available dimensions | Postpone if there is no spot |
| Use | Working dimensions and free area | Choose another format if it does not fit |
| Folding | Folded item size, including parts | Do not use box dimensions |
| Replacement | What leaves and whether both agree | Wait until agreed |
| Compatibility | Model and source of information | Clarify anything unverified |
| Alternative | Permitted differences | Avoid “anything similar” |
Compare the full set, not just the word “mini” in a name. Check loose components and the total size of nested items.
Select wishes in five steps
- List the household tasks a gift would help with before choosing brands.
- Check what you already own. You may not need another item.
- Measure storage and working space, using clear units.
- Confirm the chosen model's dimensions and contents with the seller or manufacturer. Ask if information is missing.
- Give guests only essential specifications and acceptable alternatives. Leave home addresses, plans and personal photos out.
Review the whole list: several small gifts can use more space than one large item. Do not allocate the same free shelf to multiple wishes.
An example description
Suppose a couple has a space measuring no more than 40 × 30 × 12 cm for a fictional folding item. This illustrates measurement, not a product recommendation.
> We need a folding version for a shared household task. Maximum storage dimensions: 40 × 30 × 12 cm, including separate parts. We will check working dimensions for the exact model. An alternative is welcome only within these limits and after checking with us. It is fine to skip this wish if nothing suitable is available.
Add the exact model and a checked link when chosen. Saying “to replace our current one” is enough; guests do not need details of your home layout. Digital gifts and experiences also have conditions to check, such as activation and use periods.
Where Osanta helps
A note or spreadsheet is enough for the initial measurements and comparison. Once agreed, the Osanta wedding page puts wishes and links in one place. Guests see available and reserved items, helping reduce duplicates.
Creation starts with the couple's email and account access; gifts and the guest link follow. Osanta does not measure your home, check dimensions or compatibility, or synchronise stock. The couple checks those details manually.
Before sharing
- Every item has its own storage spot.
- Working and folded dimensions are checked separately from packaging.
- All components fit.
- Both partners agree to replacements.
- Alternatives stay within the stated limits.
- Guests can choose freely; buying everything is not expected.
- There is no address, floor plan or personal photo.
The selected wishes are now ready for the wedding page. Recheck the fit before updating an item to another model.

Questions on this topic
Is a “compact” label enough?
No. Compare the item's actual working and storage dimensions with the available space.
Which dimensions matter for a folding item?
The folded size including separate parts, and any limits in the working position. Packaging measurements are different.
How should we list a replacement?
Agree it together and check the new model's space requirements. Keep the old item until the new one arrives and is checked.
Should guests see our floor plan?
No. Essential measurements and specifications are enough. Leave addresses, floor plans and personal photos out.
Does Osanta check whether a gift fits?
No. The couple checks dimensions, contents and compatibility manually. Osanta gathers descriptions and links on one page.
