How to check a wedding wishlist for personal details before sharing

Ручная проверка готового свадебного списка: убрать лишние контакты, адреса, коды и сведения о гостях, сохранив понятные пожелания.

✨ Quick step

Preparing a wedding?

Create a wedding wishlist so guests can choose useful gifts and reply about attendance.

Before sharing a wedding wishlist, manually read every gift description, note and instruction. Remove home addresses, phone numbers, access codes, guest contacts and details identifying who has chosen a gift. Keep what helps someone understand the wish; discuss individual handovers privately.

This is for a couple with a finished list ready to share. It is a content review, not a legal or technical security audit. A recipient can forward a link, so careful wording is not a confidentiality guarantee.

Decide what guests need

Unnecessary personal details are information about a person or access that is not needed to choose a gift. A model, size or acceptable alternative usually explains the wish without a relative’s phone number.

Ask of each sentence: does it help choose a gift, and are we comfortable showing it to everyone receiving the link? Delete what is unnecessary. Move information needed by one person to a private conversation.

Review in four passes

1. Read all text

Start with the title and introduction, then each gift, note and instruction. Look beyond phone numbers: a reference to who holds a key can also be unnecessary. Do not explain preferences through private health or family circumstances; “this option does not suit us” is enough.

Open each link manually. Use a normal product page rather than an order, account or conversation. If a link is unclear, find the product again instead of copying the whole address. Avoid screenshots of orders, tickets and messages.

3. Replace individual instructions

Delivery addresses, recipient phone numbers and access codes do not need to be visible to every guest. Ask people to arrange handover privately. This concerns private addresses and restricted instructions, not the wider wedding logistics plan.

4. Read the saved page

Save the changes and reopen the page guests will see. Check the visible result, not just the source note. Do not create trial reservations or enter guest contacts for this review. Ask the other partner to read it independently.

A useful rewrite

An illustrative draft says: “This kettle model; deliver it home; ask our relative for details.” Replace it with: “Model A kettle, 1.5 litres, white; another colour is acceptable. We will arrange handover privately.”

This is a teaching example, not a service case study. Guests still know what to choose. Do not add who intends to buy it: that may spoil the surprise.

When Osanta helps

You can perform the same review in a simple note. If you want one current list by link, the Osanta wedding page brings gifts and notes together. It does not replace manual checking or promise automatic detection of personal data.

The creation page uses the owner’s email and account access; signed-in owners use their current account. Guests do not need a separate registration to open the page.

See the separate sharing guide for wording and timing, and the guide for guests in different cities for handover planning.

Final checklist

  • Read the introduction, gifts, notes and instructions.
  • Remove home addresses, phones and access codes.
  • Remove guest contacts and reservation holders’ names.
  • Avoid private messages, orders and tickets.
  • Use normal product links.
  • Keep the gift specifications clear.
  • Reopen the saved guest page.
  • Have both partners agree on the visible content.

Review changed passages again whenever you add a gift or note before sharing the link again.

Questions on this topic

Should a wedding wishlist include a home address?

It is not needed to choose a gift. Discuss the handover and any necessary address privately with the person involved.

Which parts need checking?

The introduction, every gift, notes, instructions, links and images, followed by the saved page guests will see.

Can I add a screenshot of a conversation?

It is better to rewrite only the neutral wish. Screenshots can include contacts and private details.

Does Osanta automatically remove personal details?

Do not rely on automatic detection or hiding. This process requires the owners to review content manually.

Is one check enough?

Check new or edited passages and reopen the saved page after each relevant change.
